Late president pursued a certain flavor, after blending and tasting store bought ingredients many times, using his home kitchen as a research laboratory, until he was satisfied. At last, he could produce a cocoa that had never existed before by adding a small amount of coffee as a secret ingredient. At that time, no other cocoa had been blended with coffee. This approach has greatly contributed to our success. Since then, APEX has been delicately adjusting recipes to match changes in the Japanese palate up to the present.
